India has been grooming for 7 years and to her it is not just a job. For India, grooming is fun and rewarding because she loves to interact with the dogs. Her favorite breed to groom is Airedales. She is meticulous in her craft and creates lasting relationships with the dogs she grooms. There is no doubt that her regulars know her and the routine, some are so excited that they come and jump on her table on their own! This is the type of relationship she works to establish with every dog. India is also our cat groomer! She is very excited to bring on more cats to her schedule!
Brianna has been grooming now for over a year. She has always liked dogs and helping them in any way she possibly can. Grooming for some dogs is no big deal and as easy as a walk in the park. However, for some, there are cases where it is scary or the dog has come from a neglected situation and it truly makes her proud that she can make them comfortable in their skin again. Brianna is patient with every case and is always able to get the dog on her table to be calm. Everytime Brianna is able to help a dog, whether it's a nail trim, bath, or groom, she is excited to take on the opportunity! She looks forward to many more experiences that come with special cases in grooming. She is currently training to groom cats too!
Cheyenne’s been a groomer for 4 years. The part she loves most about grooming is getting to love on your fur babies while also making them feel good and look amazing. She always knew she wanted to work with animals. When she found the opportunity to become a groomer she leaped into it and has loved it everyday since. She is also well versed in client conversations. She loves to educate clients on how to care for their dog's coat and guide them to the best products to use at home!
Edda's love of dogs drew her into the grooming profession which she has been doing for over 12 years. She loves that she gets to work with and develop relationships with so many dogs. She received her training at the Merryfield School of Pet Grooming in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she learned all the breed profiles and proper, safe grooming techniques. Edda has always been an animal and nature lover. She has had horses and trained them in dressage and currently has fun training and competing with her Doberman in the sport of agility. Dogs will always be in her life because she cannot imagine a life without them! Every dog she grooms she values as her own.
Corrine manage’s Urban Yap and her favorite part of managing is being able to greet customers and their wonderful dogs! She loves customer connections and being able to know which customer and what dog is walking through the door. She also loves being able to give attention to all the dogs and love them while they are at the shop. Corrine really likes helping the staff, whether it’s getting a new tool or product to make their job easier or figuring out the best way to execute a procedure, she is there for them! She is a CDT-C dog trainer and this gives her the knowledge on how to interact with your pup in the best way for them. She has always loved dogs and found her calling in a career serving and helping them.
Jayla began her journey with Urban Yap in 2023. She has always had a deep affection for animals and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to help them in any way she can. She especially loves when we get to see rescues at the shop and see the love and compassion of everyone involved. It reminds her that she made the right career choice. The smiles on the pet’s faces after a grooming session, when they get their bow ties or bows followed by a treat, is all the motivation she needs to keep doing what she does. Jayla loves serving our customers at the front desk as well as our furry friends.
Angelina is a full time student and active volunteer at the Spartanburg Humane Society. She grew up in a small town near Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to South Carolina 4 years ago. She has always loved spending time with animals and volunteering has been an amazing opportunity to learn how to handle dogs in a way that makes them feel safe and comfortable. Angelina loves to be on her feet and moving around throughout the day, especially when it involves meeting new people or spending time with their pets! Angelina’s compassion for dogs and work ethic makes her a wonderful addition to our front desk and bathing team!
Katie loves bathing dogs. She finds it relaxing and satisfying to scrub your pup clean! Katie has wonderful cavaliers of her own, so she has a deep understanding of high maintenance coats. Katie understands the importance of a bath and how it can improve a dog's overall health and wellbeing. She is kind and patient with every dog she encounters and has always worked in the pet industry giving her ample experience.
Ashley has worked in the veterinary field for over six years. She is currently in school studying wildlife and zoology and has worked with all types of animals from domestic to wildlife and exotic. Her skill set ranges from years of practice doing baths, nail trims and anal glands to safe and proper restraint techniques. With her experience she is a great addition to our bathing team! There is not an animal Ashley won't try to work with! She has experience working with aggressive animals as well as nervous animals that need reassurance. Her love and compassion for animals runs deepest for senior pets who sometimes need a little extra gentle care! Ashley has two wonderful dogs of her own and a lizard named Sobek! When Ashley is not working, she’s out hiking in the mountains with her pack or enjoying a day off at home! She looks forward to meeting you and your furry best friend!
